Well, I’ve been at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival, mostly. I sell my chainmaille there in a little cart called the “Spoils of War” that’s right by the jousting arena. This is both great fun and a great deal of work, as I usually end up spending the majority of my time at home making chainmaille to keep the cart nice and full for the upcoming weekend. If you’re interested in seeing pictures from the Ren Fest, you can scroll back on my Instagram or you can check out my recent blog post over on my jewelry site.
But what about ART? you ask.
Well, I’ve been busy on book three! You see, I’m in a group of local businesswomen called Rock It! led by Propelle, and they’re amazing. It’s not a “trade referrals, and we’ll trade them back!” type of group. It’s for honest, REAL support. Referrals happen, of course, but mostly it’s for advice, critique, discussion, and yes, the occasional bit of self-promotion. One thing they just did was a 30 Day Challenge where we focus on ONE THING to move ourselves forward, and commit to work on it every day. They even made an awesome little star chart and everything, I loved it! ^_^ I chose to work on book three, and while I started late, I got 25 days of book work finished, and drew 20 pages! Check it out:
I started my #propelleonething challenge a few days late, hence the blank stars at the end. But I got 20 pages out of 35 FINISHED! I feel pretty good about my progress, and I think I’m still on track to finish the next book in time for November, which means it’ll be ready for gifting in December. Thanks, @wepropelle! 👩🏻🎨 #drawing #coloringbook #wip #workinprogress #pittsburghartist
So fun! And motivating. I think I’m going to make a little chart for all of my upcoming books.
I know it’s kinda hard to tell from the pictures, but my current theme is Islamic Art, and I’ll be inking them up soon! Keep an eye on my Instagram, look for previews here on the site, and I’ll be looking for people to join my book launch Facebook group in a few days. My goal is to have the book done by November, so it’ll be out in time for the holidays.
What are you working on next?
